I painted this scene on location at the beach popularly called "Pounders", on the northeast side of Oahu.
Flanked by its signature rock and a grove of impressive hala trees with long aerial roots, Pounders is recognized as a great body surfing beach when the surf is up. It is also enjoyed by many families as a favorite picnic spot on lazy weekend days.
